SPANISH GRAND PRIX QUALI DEBRIEF!!!

PLEASE FORGIVE ME AS THIS IS MY FIRST POST AND I’M STILL VERY NEW TO ALL THIS.

Well what a thrilling qualifying session yesterday was for the Spanish Grand Prix! We have now seen four different teams earn the pole position in the last four races of this season. This has set up the Spanish GP to be very competitive race. So what are our key areas that we need to keep a careful eye on in the run up to when lights go out?

Lando Norris set an absolutely thrilling final lap with a time of 1.11.383s in which secured him his second pole position of his career. Norris’s last pole position was back in 2021 at Sochi Autodrome. Yesterday’s result for Norris put him ahead of Dutchman Max Verstappen by two hundredths of a second. As for the race on Sunday it is all about who comes out of Turn 1 in the lead as the lead up to the corner there is a lot of overtaking opportunities, so it will be an exciting battle.

We now have the possibility for four team win? Why do I say this, it’s not just the two drivers on the front row who believe they can fight for the victory. Mercedes and Ferrari have both showed strong performance so far this weekend through all 3 free practices and qualifying.

To see both Alpine drivers within the top 10 for the Spanish Grand Prix is something to be commended on but can both drivers put aside their differences and manage to secure double points for the team.

Unfortunately for both the VCARB and Williams team they experienced one of their toughest sessions with their drivers securing a disappointing P17 for Yuki Tsunoda, P18 for Daniel Ricciardo. The Williams drivers Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant finished in P19 and P20.

Who do I believe could win the Spanish GP, it could be anyone’s race. Can Lando Norris secure his second career victory, will Lewis Hamilton get his first win of the 2024 season or will Max Verstappen be yet again victorious.

It will be an exciting battle throughout the entire 66-lap race. See you when lights go out 🇪🇸
